The problem here is the registration agreement for the forums where it says the user's e-mail address will only be used for account confirmation and password reminders. This makes mass-mailing for any other purpose legally problematic. This is why we ask for consent to use e-mail addresses for round reminders on the game signup page now. |

Seems like modern day planetia is as much about stealing ships as stealing roids.
Been attacked for days now by sytorians who dont care for my roids, only for my EMP ships.

Return the game back into a hierachy of skill by using one race. Diversity in races will only play out as an additional feauture if there is diversity in the playerbase.

I'm not sure where you're coming from here. There's plenty of diversity in the races picked by players, including the top players. Having multiple races available also provides extra advantages to working together as a galaxy. |

Exactly, diversity is plenty around. And despite the fact that it's a good thing in a very big universe where you have entities that are too big to run themselves properly, it gives chances for smaller entities to compete. Making it less a matter of how many members your entity has and more a matter of how much skill. The problem is that the game never succeeded in that in the past. Numbers always won the round.
However, when the universe is small, the remaining people from that large playerbase in the past are all acquinted and befriended. As social groups stayed behind and not a small group of members from every entity, it's vital to encourage growth.
One way of doing that is by "forcing" everyone in the universe to participate.
In that perspective it would help to make one race and have a very linear gamedesign, rather than a diverse one in order to reestablish a new hierachy within those social groups. So that every individual playing is "forced" to focus on his/her account again.
It would ultimately speed up the process of dividing known entities into smaller fragments, from which they can grow again.
In a competitive enviroment, the top will not want to work with eachother as all have the desire to win.

Just to clarify this, that 50 is the number of active players, not the number of planets, in-case anyone misinterprets it as "50 planets, x of which are active". We had about 120 actual signups this round. |
